IONOSPHERE THERMOSPHERE MAGNETOSPHERE PHYSICS (ITMP) BRANCH

आयनमंडल तापमंडल एवं चुंबकमंडल भौतिकी

Ionosphere Thermosphere Magnetosphere Physics (ITMP) branch aims at investigation of the energetics and dynamics of terrestrial upper atmosphere, with focus on (a) Study of the response of the magnetosphere thermosphere ionosphere system to varying space weather and geomagnetic conditions and it's latitudinal differences, (b) Study of the dynamical coupling thermosphere-ionosphere has with the atmosphere below it, (c) In house development and use of thermosphere-ionosphere models to represent the upper atmospheric processes and make use of these studies to provide better input for technological applications. ITMP strives to meet these research objectives through indigenous development of experiments capable of being used on ground, rocket and space-based platforms and extending the scope of its research to the magnetospheres, thermospheres, and ionospheres of other solar system bodies as well. 

आयनमंडल, तापमंडल एवं चुंबकमंडल भौतिकी (आइटीएमपी) शाखा का लक्ष्य, (क) बदलते अंतरिक्ष मौसम तथा भूचुंबकीय परिस्थितियों तथा इसके अक्षांशीय असमानताओं पर चुंबकमंडल तापमंड़ल आयनमंड़ल प्रणाली की अनुक्रिया का अध्ययन (ख) तापमंड़ल-आयनमंड़ल का उसके नीचे की वायुमंड़ल के साथ गतिकीय युग्मन पर अध्ययन (ग) ऊपरि वायुमंड़लीय प्रक्रमों का प्रतिनिधित्व करने के लिए तापमंड़ल-आयनमंड़ल नमूनों का इन हाउस विकास व उपयोग और इन अध्ययनों का प्रयोग प्रौद्योगिक अनुप्रयोगों के लिए बेहतर इनपुट प्रदान करने हेतु उपयोग करने पर ध्यान केंद्रित करते हुए, भौमिक ऊपरी वायुमंड़ल की ऊर्जिकी तथा गतिकी की जाँच करना है। आइटीएमपी  शाखा का यह प्रयास रहता है कि वह इन अनुसंधान लक्ष्यों को भूमि, रॉकेट तथा अंतरिक्ष आधारित मंचों में प्रयोग हेतु क्षमता रखनेवाले स्वदेशी तौर पर विकासित परीक्षणों के माध्यम से तथा अनुसंधान की व्याप्ति को अन्य सौर प्रणाली पिंड़ों के चुंबकमंड़ल, तापमंड़ल तथा आयनमंड़ल तक भी बढ़ाकर पूरा करे।
